October 26 - Arrival Date

After nine months of a fairly easy pregnancy little Charlie Wade decided he'd make his appearance a day before his due date (only 1 hour and 41 minutes early - the nurse that calc'd his due date was almost right on the money). He weighed in at 9 lbs 12 oz and was 20 inches long. The Lord blessed us with a very easy delivery - 5 hours in the hospital prior to his birth with only one hour being a bit uncomfortable and 20 minutes of hard labor.
The good thing is that Daddy and Grandpa were able to finish up our master bath while we awaited Charlie's arrival. Daddy stayed in touch making sure all was okay with us and fought the torture of wanting to be in two places at one time - Mommy knew the best place at this time was for Daddy to work on the bath - we were fine and the news at the hospital was that we wouldn't have the little guy until the wee hours of the morning on the 27th with the use of induction drugs, so we had plenty of time for Daddy to pace the floors at the hospital (or so we thought). Daddy arrived at the hospital about an hour before delivery to make sure we were okay and we decided it was safe for him and Grandpa to go get a bite to eat. Within a half hour of him leaving I was calling him letting him know that the nurses advised him to get back to the hospital asap (at this time I still thought we had at least an hour or more before the baby's arrival). Daddy was back at the hospital within 10 minutes and was there supporting us for the final 20 minutes of labor-talk about being under the wrong impression of how much time we had left. We didn't require induction drugs or pain meds which was an awesome blessing.
Grandpa Charlie & Grandma Margaret were able to meet little Charlie shortly after his arrival. Grandma Linda flew in on Wednesday to meet little Charlie and Grandpa Wade visited with Charlie via phone and pictures on the internet. His Uncles, Aunts and cousins and friends came by the hospital on Monday to spoil the little one.
